Planter fasciitis is a condition in which the fascia in the sole of the foot starts to thicken, stretch, and develop small tears. This can result in sever foot or heel pain, inflammation around the sole of the foot, heal and ankle. Other signs and symptoms can be fluid retention in the soles of the feet and stabbing pain when walking.
Some risk factors for plantar fasciitis include:
- Standing on hard floors all-day
- Running or jogging on hard surfaces (bitumen or concrete),
- Age – most common in people over 60
- People with high arches
- Overweight,
- Poor circulation in the legs and feet
Non-treated Planter fasciitis can become extremely frustrating and feel debilitating and can become a chronic condition. Techniques I employ are:
